Plan B from MB presents: “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (gender bender edition!) with live shadowcast at Brick House Lounge in Surfside
On Saturday 4/27/24 Plan B from MB will be returning to The Brickhouse Lounge to give a gender-bent shadow cast performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show!
Doors will open for our sponsor room at 6:30pm, with info and goodies from our friends at Careteam Plus, South Strand Pride, PFLAG Pawleys Island, Badd Kitty, T-Time: Myrtle Beach transgender support group, Casey Brannon Photography, and Teazers Pole Dance Studio. There’ll be plenty of time to grab dinner or drinks and chat them up before the show, or to hang out and play a quick round of pool or enjoy a board game from Brick House’s library. Our preshow activities will begin promptly at 8:30pm with a costume contest, games, and prizes from Badd Kitty and Teazers Pole Fitness & Dance Studio. The movie will start at 9pm with live shadowcast where the guys, gals, and non-binary pals play…well, pretty much whoever they want. Everything’s made up and the points don’t matter–costumes and audience participation are encouraged!
This show is 18+. Advance tickets are $20 (plus merchant fees) via the ticket link from our facebook page, but will be $25 at the door! Rocky merch and participation items will be available for sale in the sponsor room prior to the show.
Plan B from Myrtle Beach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable performing arts organization. A minimum of 50% of net proceeds from tickets and merchandise will support South Strand Pride and Pawley’s Island PFLAG.
Laugh Out Loud: Comedy for a Cause
PFLAG Pawleys Island is thrilled to announce the return of “Laugh Out Loud: Comedy for a Cause”, the uproarious 18+ comedy event that’s sure to leave you in stitches. Now in its third installment, “Laugh Out Loud” promises an evening of amusement, camaraderie, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Hosted at the historic Winyah Auditorium, located in the heart of Georgetown, this year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 27th. The night will kick off at 5 PM with a reception beforehand to include drinks on us and globally inspired comfort food for purchase by local food truck vender Black Cat Kitchen. Doors open at 6 PM with a 6:30 PM showtime.
Attendees can expect an unforgettable lineup of talented comedians from the LGBTQIA+ and ally community, each bringing their unique brand of humor to the stage. From side- splitting buffoonery to ridiculously jocular knee-slappers, “Laugh Out Loud: Comedy for a Cause” is guaranteed to have something for everyone. In addition to providing a night of entertainment, the event serves as a fundraiser for PFLAG Pawleys Island, a local organization dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies in Georgetown County.
Tickets for “Laugh out Loud: Comedy for a Cause” are available now and can be purchased on Eventbrite or at the door on the day of the event. Early bird on sale now until April 1. Don’t miss your chance to laugh out loud and support a safe and vibrant community for all.
